Community Education
Monthly Educational Presentations
Education for and in our communities is an ongoing commitment of our organization. There are monthly educational presentations at the public libraries in Columbus, Landrum, Inman and Traveler’s Rest. Please check with your libraries, or call our office for details.
Free Educational Resources
Educational materials on topics as varied as Alzheimer’s Disease and ADHD to Multiple Sclerosis and Menopause are now available free-of-charge at all three Hospice of the Carolina Foothills (HoCF) locations: at the main Hospice of the Carolina Foothills office in Columbus behind St. Luke’s Hospital; at Smith Phayer Hospice House on Fairwinds Rd. in Landrum, and at The Hospice Thrift Barn on Hwy 14 at I-26 in Landrum.
“These materials can help you and your family understand a particular disease, talk with your doctor, provide more confident caregiving or just learn how to live a healthy life and help prevent disease,” explains Cheryl Brock, Healthcare Liaison for HoCF.
Individuals, families, health care providers, schools and nursing facilities are urged to take advantage of the health-related materials, and request literature on topics that might prove helpful.
