Not all Hospice Care is equal -
Our services set us apart.

You deserve the best care—make sure you get it.

Before you choose any hospice provider, please find out about the services they provide. The information you get ultimately determines the level of care, comfort and support you and your family will receive. At Hospice of the Carolina Foothills, we are committed to patient-centered services that set us apart:

The Best Care Possible

We provide designated professional staff for each patient Monday through Friday, 8:30 am – 5:00 pm. After hours, we have evening on-call nurses and designated weekend nurses and other staff available. None of our nurses are required to take calls in the evenings after working all day. So when a nurse starts work each day, he/she is refreshed and focused to give the best care possible.

Medical Director board certified in Hospice & Palliative Medicine

We have a Hospice and Palliative Medicine board certified Medical Director whose job it is to oversee the care of each person who is receiving hospice services and palliative care consults.

Non-profit Hospice Provider

We are a local, non-profit hospice who has provided care to the Carolina Foothills for over 30 years. We are dedicated to providing compassionate care for serious illness, meeting the medical, emotional, and spiritual needs of individuals and their families. Our services are covered by Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance. However, we serve anyone, regardless of insurance coverage or ability to pay.

On Call 24/7

We accept referrals and make admissions 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We respond to referral calls immediately and can admit within 2 hours, or on a schedule that meets the needs of patients and families.

Our Own Hospice House

We have a Hospice House (in-patient hospice facility) for quick and easy access, should the need arise.

Trained Volunteers

We have a volunteer staff of over 250 trained and compassionate individuals who make a difference every day in quality of life for our patients and their families.

Our Services

Hospice Care

We serve residents of Polk County, North Carolina, and Spartanburg and Greenville counties in South Carolina. We help anyone with a diagnosed end-stage illness of any type, providing care in private homes, in skilled nursing and assisted living facilities, in retirement communities, and at our Hospice House. We strive to meet the medical needs of patients, and the emotional and spiritual needs of patients and their families.

Hospice House

Hospice House of the Carolina Foothills is located on a quiet and serene 14-acre wooded site on Fairwinds Road in Landrum, South Carolina. It is easily accessible from both I-26 and Highway 14. The House provides special comforts to families, including accommodations for an overnight stay; emotional and spiritual support; a chapel; a family room and children’s playroom; in-house kitchen and dining room; gardens and walking path.

Palliative Care

Palliative (pronounced pál-lee-uh-tiv) Care means comfort care, and is offered as a program of consultative services to help relieve the pain, symptoms and stress of serious illness. The goal is to maximize the quality of life for individuals and families living with difficult, but not terminal, medical conditions.

Bereavement Care

When death occurs, whether it is sudden or comes after a long illness, the loss can be overwhelming. Hospice bereavement professionals provide care and support in a safe and confidential manner to both our hospice families and to others in the community.

Your focus on bringing comfort, self-respect and tranquility to people in their final years of life is an irreplaceable concept in our society and is very much appreciated. We hope that this donation will help advance your services to all who are in need of them.
