The many faces of Hospice Volunteers
According to the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation’s Faith in Action Program, there are physical, emotional, and spiritual benefits of giving and volunteering. Some of them include:

- Patient companion for patients & their families in Inman, Lyman, and communities north of Greer
- Patient companions who would receive special training to feed patients in nursing homes in Tryon, Saluda and Inman
- 11th hour volunteers who provide a reassuring presence to dying patients who would otherwise be alone
- Patient companions to provide various assistance to patients and families at Smith Phayer Hospice House in Landrum
- More men! For patients who especially want male companionship
- Outreach volunteers for our “Feet on the Street” initiative in North & South Carolina communities: Saluda, Green Creek, Sunny View, Mill Spring, Gowensville, Campobello and Greer
- Office volunteers to staff the NEW Inman Resource & Information Office on weekday afternoons
- Thrift Barn volunteers who can work one four-hour shift each week on the sales floor or in the back room sorting and preparing goods for the sales floor
