Patients’ families appreciate their volunteers

“Our volunteer was ever ready to do anything, even bringing a strawberry milkshake!”
“Every volunteer that was involved with my mother was kind, knowledgeable and helpful.”
“The young man was a Godsend. My father related to him very well and I was so happy to see him come for Dad.”
“The volunteers became best friends of mother’s—and the whole family. They walked the last leg of the journey faithfully beside us. Mother loved them.”
“The male volunteer’s companionship was just what my husband needed. He had enough women coddling him. He needed a big guy to hang out with.”
“Volunteers were wonderful, especially in final days of illness—and then they were kind to me following my wife’s death.”
“I wish to thank each of you and the volunteers for your care and thoughtfulness. You became our friends and like extended family.”
“As we continue in the healing process, we are constantly reminded of the tremendous services that the staff and volunteers of the Hospice of the Carolina Foothills provided to all of us during Mama Laura’s illness. The quality of her life was greatly enhanced from the time that your staff first started working with her right up until the end. I received regular reports from her about how patient the volunteers were with her and how much she enjoyed their outings to the hot dog stand or to get ice cream.”
“The volunteer that helped with our family was one wonderful person. She also stayed with us until the end. We could never thank her enough.”
