About Us
History
Founded in 1981 as Hospice of Polk County, our Medicare-certified, not-for-profit, free-standing agency has continuously, since 1981, provided care for individuals, and their families, who live with serious and terminal illness, grief and loss. In 1995, we changed our name to Hospice of the Carolina Foothills to reflect our service to patients and families in an expanded service area.
Those We Serve
Hospice serves Polk County, North Carolina and Spartanburg and Greenville counties in South Carolina. , All services are available to children and adults of any age, religion, race, or end-stage illness. All services are available in private homes, nursing homes, assisted living and retirement homes, hospitals, and our Hospice House in Landrum.

Today, 75 professional staff members and over 200 trained volunteers provide expert care to hundreds of people each year through a variety of services that help them live better with serious and terminal illness, loss and grief. We strive to improve your community’s quality of living and dying through hospice care, palliative care, bereavement care and education.
